FAQ - Your Questions Answered

How fast can I actually get my cabinets?

Faster than you might think! Because we build everything locally at our Wasilla facility, we cut out the usual supply-chain delays. After your design is finalized, most projects are built and ready to install within just a few weeks (exact timing depends on the size of your kitchen). Our clients often say they’re “amazed at how quick it was”. We won’t keep you waiting months – our goal is to get you cooking in your new kitchen as soon as possible.

What if something breaks or I have an issue later on?

We’ve got you covered. Polar Cabinets includes a 3-year warranty on our workmanship and materials. That means if a hinge, drawer slide, or cabinet face ever fails, warps, or breaks due to normal use within three years of installation, we’ll fix or replace it—no hassle. Just give us a call, whether it’s a few weeks or a couple years down the road. We believe in our craftsmanship and stand behind every project. As one of our clients put it, “Their follow-up is terrific and they take care of you like family.”

Are custom cabinets within my budget?

Absolutely. We offer personalized designs for a range of budgets. In fact, because we manufacture everything ourselves, we often beat competitors’ pricing (many clients are surprised that a company with our reputation could stay within budget and beat the other competitors’ pricing). During your free consultation, we’ll discuss your budget openly and find the right materials and options that fit. No upsells, no pressure – just honest guidance to get the maximum value out of your investment. A beautiful, custom kitchen doesn’t have to “cost an arm and a leg,” and we’ll make sure to design around what you’re comfortable with.

How far are you from downtown Wasilla if I need a consultation for kitchen cabinets?

We’re about 10 minutes from downtown Wasilla, just off the Parks Highway near the Home Depot. We can come to your home for a free kitchen cabinet consultation, or you’re welcome to swing by our local shop.

Do I need a building permit in Wasilla to remodel my kitchen cabinets?

In most cases, replacing cabinets doesn’t require a permit in Wasilla unless you're moving plumbing or electrical. But we’re happy to double-check with the City of Wasilla Permitting Office so everything’s compliant before we begin.

Is it true some neighborhoods in Wasilla have HOA restrictions on interior renovations like kitchen cabinets?

Yes, a few subdivisions—like the Ranch and Sunrise Terrace—may require you to submit plans or get written approval for any remodel. We’re familiar with those guidelines and can help prep anything your HOA needs.

How long does it usually take to install custom kitchen cabinets in Wasilla homes?

In Wasilla, our full install timeline is usually 2 to 3 weeks, depending on the season and material availability. Winter deliveries can get delayed on the Glenn or Parks Highway, so we build in a little cushion during snowy months.

Do you service homes in Meadow Lakes or just inside Wasilla city limits?

Absolutely! We regularly work in Meadow Lakes, Knik-Fairview, and even out toward Big Lake. We don’t charge extra for those areas—it’s all part of our local service range.

Can your cabinets handle Wasilla’s dry winters and humid summers?

Yes—our cabinets are sealed with finishes that hold up to the Mat-Su Valley’s temperature swings. We even adjust our cabinet construction slightly for local humidity and elevation changes.

Do you offer cabinet repair or just full replacements in Wasilla?

We do both! If you’re in an older Wasilla home and just need a few cabinet doors refaced or soft-close hinges added, we can absolutely help without doing a full tear-out.

Is there a better time of year to book a custom cabinet install in Wasilla?

Spring and fall are ideal—roads are clear, and we avoid the winter slowdown caused by icy freight routes. If you’re aiming for a summer-ready kitchen, booking in March or April gives us a head start.
